Chief Operating Officer Shontra Powell joined ASQ in December 2015, to lead and serve our mission to increase the use and impact of quality in response to the diverse needs in the world. She leveraged her foundation in governance and for-profit leadership to bring objectivity to the commercial considerations of ASQ. Under Shontra’s leadership, ASQ operations were enhanced to become more resilient, setting ASQ on a path for increased efficiency in planning and delivering product and service offerings.
ASQ is on a continued journey of success and transformation. It is vital that our structure allow the most optimal placement of leadership. To make ASQ a flatter organization, Shontra, working with the Executive Leadership team, concluded the need for further organization refinement, starting at the top. It has been decided that the COO position has served its purpose, and Shontra will conclude her tenure at ASQ on April 30, 2017.
Shontra has worked hard to secure a solid U.S.-based team of leaders (her directs), and we have every confidence that this team will excel in their further elevated roles, reporting directly to me.
Shontra continues her passion for business growth, innovation and transformation. I have no doubt that she will continue to grow her leadership experience, and impact.
